The Engish born actress Rhona Mitra is currently playing the role of renowned paleomicrobiologist Dr. Rachel Scott on the TNT show "The Last Ship" and displaying the dramatic range in combination with her stunning beauty that has made her an actress who always seems to be in demand.
She recently spoke about the show with 'Collider' in an interview and compared her current show to a show that made her immensely popular with men and women, "Strike Back".
On Strike Back she notes how the role was very physical as her character, Rachel Dalton, was the head of a major special ops operation and as such she was training every day, carrying AK-47s and reloading gun magazines. What she loved about the role however was her character was both action oriented and cerebral and she experiences a similar thing in "The Last Ship" as Dr. Rachel Scott.
Her thought is that the two roles are similar except that in "The Last Ship" the war and the military is a very foreign world to her which it definitely was not in "Strike Back".
The beautiful actress was recruited by the producers of "The Last Ship" to be part of the Michael Bay project for which she was very grateful as she makes no secret of loving action movies and being part of of project created by one of the godfathers of action.
Interestingly, she is currently in the news for another rumoured project produced by another renowned action star, Sylvester Stallone. The Hollywood star has been talking for several months about expanding on his successful "Expendables" movie with a movie that utilizes the skills of a deadly female operatives to save the world from a despot who has captured one of the top nuclear scientists in the world and the name Rhona Mitra has been one of the names consistently linked to the project.
Rhona Mitra is an actress whose ability to mix cerebral and action has made her one of the best action-drama actors in Hollywood and someone who will remain in high demand on both the small and big screen.
