It is a great time to be a comic book movie fan these days, with a huge amount of new superhero films coming our way over the course of the next few years, with even more lined up beyond that. Warner Bros. and DC are still playing catch up though, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been fantastic over the past few years and only looks like getting better.
While we are very excited about seeing the new Marvel characters joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are also plenty of Marvel movie sequels to look forward to, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 being amount the most eagerly anticipated. We already know that we are going to see the main characters making a return but it looks like there might be someone else coming back.
Actor Benicio del Toro played the role of The Collector in Guardians of the Galaxy, and actress Zoe Saldana has hinted that he could well be reprising that role for the sequel. Zoe shared a video on her official Facebook page, praising Benicio for his work in the new movie Sicario and, right at the end of the video, the actress says, "See you in Guardians." Sounds to us like Del Toro is returning.
With that said, it could be that Zoe Saldana is just assuming that the character would once again feature in the movie and does not actually know anything for definite. However, Benicio del Toro as The Collector only had a small role in the first movie, so it would definitely be nice to see more of him in the sequel. Watch this space!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set to hit the big screen on April 28, 2017 in the UK and May 5, 2017 in the US.
