Tiger Eyes is a movie that that no matter what, fans of Judy Blume will go see. Judy Blume epitomizes a lot of people's childhoods and they associate that period of time with her books like nothing else. Tiger Eyes, especially, was always memorable for being dark, happy, brutal, light, and filled with hope, all at the same time.
When it was first announced that the book would be made into a film, the initial reaction was doubt that anyone could manage to pull it off. However, the adaptation was endorsed by Judy herself, and the film is being directed by her son, Lawrence Blume.
They managed to cast a strong young actress in Willa Holland for the lead role in the film. And now, we've gotten out first look at the film via a new trailer released today. The trailer is well cut, and Holland seems to acquit herself well - but as well know, trailers are only a glimpse into the movie's potential. For now, it seems as though they have done the book justice.
Tiger Eyes will release on June 7th in the US, and in addition to Holland, stars Amy Jo Johnson, Tatanka Means, Elise Eberle, and Cynthia Stevenson.
