When it was announced that actress Natalie Portman was going to make her return to the big screen in an interesting and exciting period drama, western Jane Got a Gun, which is expected to feature plenty of action throughout, many fans around the world were excited to see what the actress and the movie would have to offer. Unfortunately though, Jane Got a Gun just continues to hit problem after the problem, with some fans worried about the future of the project.
Since the announcement of the movie Jane Got a Gun was made, we have seen a number of big name Hollywood stars linked to roles in the project and, as well as Natalie Portman being involved, we also saw the likes of Jude Law, Michael Fassbender, Bradley Cooper, Ewan McGregor and Joel Edgerton being attached. However, following the amount of issues that have taken place along the way, only Joel Edgerton and Ewan McGregor actually made the final film.
The reason for the constant changes in the cast for Jane Got a Gun, was the fact that there were a number of scheduling changes along the way, as well as the fact that director Lynne Ramsey pulled out of the project just days before shooting was set to begin. Gavin O'Connor has since taken over directing duties and the film has finally been completed, yet there has now been another hurdle for the movie to overcome.
Distribution company Relativity Media is reportedly filing for bankruptcy, so has handed the rights to Jane Got a Gun back to the moviemakers, which has led fans to question when we will actually get to see the film hit the big screen. Well, it has been claimed that The Weinstein Company is going to take full control of the distribution for Jane Got a Gun and the movie does still have a release date scheduled for September 4.
With that said, we have yet to see any sort of real promotional material for Jane Got a Gun, with no trailer to get the fans excited, so we expect that, should The Weinstein Company take full control of the distribution, the release date will get pushed back. Let's hope it is not too long!
