When Warner Bros. and DC announced their list of characters that they have coming to the big screen over the course of the next few years, many people suggested that they did not actually have a plan for how their characters would all interlink with one another and were just rushing out movies to compete with Marvel and their very impressive cinematic universe.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in 2016

However, it looks like these people are actually wide of the mark, as Warner Bros. and DC do indeed have a plan and they already know just how they want their characters films to all be interconnected. Now, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder has been speaking about the DCEU, and Zack believes that it will all come together nicely.

Snyder explained, "What we are doing is ground up all the way. It is one giant story. The first thing we had was the Justice League concept. The other movies, in a way, have to support that. That is our Wonder Woman, our Aquaman. They have their own creative concepts that supports them, but they do serve Justice League in the coming together of those heroes."

He added, "I want all the other directors of the other films to be able to stretch their legs and do what they want, but at the same time there is a big interconnected universe. I have given everyone amazing access to our story, to me, and what we are doing. All the films have like-minded conceptual jumping on points."

We are definitely looking forward to the next five years or so, as we get to see just what Warner Bros. and DC do actually have planned for their projects and whether the DC Extended Universe can actually compete with the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
