While the DC movies have been getting quite a lot of stick recently, the DC television shows have been much more impressive and it looks like they could be set to get even bigger and better. Supergirl has moved over to The CW for season 2 and fans are very excited about what this new season of the show has to offer.
One of the most exciting things about Supergirl season 2, is the fact that we are going to get to see a new small screen Superman in the show. Actor Tyler Hoechlin has been cast to play the role of Clark Kent aka Superman, and Tyler has been teasing fans what they can expect from his version of the character.
Hoechlin explained, "It’s a very hopeful and optimistic show. As an actor, you always love these deep, dark, complicated, conflicted characters — there’s a challenge and that’s something to really dig into. This was something that was fun. It’s pure fun and it’s Superman as I think he was intended to be, which is just an incredible symbol of hope to kids that they can do anything, and that they can be good people, and that good people can triumph over evil."
He added, "That’s just, at the core of it, what it is. Clark is the side of that that is — you know, you don’t have to be dark and brooding, and always in this state of masculine toughness. You can still just be a sweet, gentle person and have that side of you that comes out when it’s needed and called upon."
We cannot wait to see just how this new version of Superman compares to the ones we have seen in the past.
