While it is fair to say that the hit The CW comic book series Arrow has been a huge success, running for five season now and spawning a number of other television shows including Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl, to form the Arrowverse or the DCTV universe, whichever you prefer to call it, there have been some fans who have had a number of complaints about the show, which the creators have been trying to work on.
One of the biggest issues with the fans of Arrow, has been the fact that the series has not stuck true to the comic books, when it comes to Oliver Queen. Actor Stephen Amell has played Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow for five seasons now and Stephen himself has admitted that he would like to see a funnier version of the character in Arrow season 6, as he wants it to be more true to those comic books.
Amell was talking at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Portland at the weekend, when he admitted, "I've said that it's very, very important that if Oliver doesn't take away lessons from season 5 and doesn't keep doing the things that have led to this catastrophic event, the character stops being interesting to me."
He added, "So I hope that part of that, in season 6 and if we have seasons beyond that, I hope that part of that is we get back to a lot of the tenets that people recognise from the comics. And that of course is humour and a socially conscious, slightly liberal superhero."
Arrow season 6 is set to premiere on The CW on Thursday, October 12.
