British actor Tom Holland has seen himself becoming one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood, managing to bag himself the role of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom has been speaking about getting to play such an iconic character, although he did admit that he is actually scared of spiders in real life.
Holland shared, "I don't like spiders, man, just because they are sneaky - they just really scare me. They are hairy - ugh. The more I get asked this question, the more scared I get of spiders so I think I am going to try to convince myself that I am not afraid of spiders."
As well as talking about his role as Spider-Man and the fact that he is actually scared of spiders in real life, Tom Holland also went on to talk about Thor actor Chris Hemsworth helping him to land the role. Tom starred with Chris in the movie Heart of the Sea and asked Hemsworth to put in a good word with him following his audition for Spider-Man.
Holland added, "I remember emailing him and being like 'hey man, what's up? Just so you know, I'm auditioning for Spider-Man and I thought it would be really cool if you could put in a good word for me. And he emailed back saying 'yeah, I'll let [the producer] know that you are always late and you never know your lines'. So thanks, Chris," before then admitting that Hemsworth did actually talk highly of him to Kevin Feige.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to hit the big screen on July 5 in the UK and on July 7 in the US.
