While we love the imagination that goes into some of the weird and wonderful films that are made in Hollywood every year, we do have to admit that we also love to see a project that has been inspired or based on a true story and true events. We accept that Hollywood will always make the decision to spice things up a little bit but we love getting to see some of the great events in history being brought to the big screen.
Which brings us to the wonderful and talented Hollywood superstar Ryan Gosling, who is preparing for the release of the eagerly anticipated movie sequel Blade Runner 2049, which is getting ever closer now. However, this is obviously not based on any true events, so we are actually looking forward to seeing Ryan taking on the role of astronaut Neil Armstrong in the upcoming new movie First Man.
As you all will no doubt already know, First Man is based on that historical day when Neil Armstrong became the first man to step foot on the moon. The movie itself has been officially described as, "A look at the life of astronaut, Neil A. Armstrong, and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the moon."
So far, Ryan Gosling is the only star who has been attached to the project, although we do have Damien Chazelle on board to direct First Man. Meanwhile, Nicole Perlman penned an early screenplay for First Man, based on the James R. Hansen book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong, with Josh Singer then taking that screenplay and adapting it further. It is expected that First Man will begin filming later this year, with a release date set for October 12, 2018 in the US and November 2, 2018 in the UK.
