Hollywood has been accused of being racist for many years now and they have once again done themselves no favours, after the nominations for the Oscars 2016 were revealed. The lack of black stars nominated for the 2016 Oscars has led to a huge race row, with a number of black stars chosing to boycott the awards ceremony, revealing their disappointment with the Academy,

Actor Will Smith was tipped by many people to land a nomination for his role in the movie Concussion but, following his exclusion from the list, his wife Jada Pinkett Smith decided to make her disappointment clear. Jada said that she will not attend the Academy Awards and will not even watch it on TV.
The 44-year-old actress took to her official Facebook page to post a video, in which she said, "I will not be at the Academy Awards and I won’t be watching. The Academy has the right to acknowledge whomever they chose and invite whomever they choose. Begging for acknowledgement or even asking for it diminishes dignity."

Jada Pinkett Smith is not the only to voice her disappointment at the Academy for the lack of diversity at the Oscars 2016, as Spike Lee has also spoken out against the nominations. Spike stated that he will not attend the awards ceremony and he cannot believe how far behind the times Hollywood still is.
Lee took to his official Instagram account to say, "How is it possible for the 2nd consecutive year all 20 contenders under the actor category are white? And let’s not even get into the other branches. Forty white actors in two two years and no flava at all. We can’t act?!," he aid before adding, "We cannot support it."
The 88th Academy Awards will take place on February 28.
