We have seen quite a lot of stars in the entertainment industry these days who first made a name for themselves as an act on the UK version of the hit series The X Factor. However, while a lot of these stars have gone on to have varied levels of success, there is one act that has blown all other X Factor alum out of the water and that is the British boyband One Direction, who are considered the biggest boyband on the planet.

It was not all smooth sailing for the One Direction boys though and each member of the boyband, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson, all have their own story to tell. Today we are going to take a quick look at how Harry Styles become one of the biggest stars on the planet, all thanks to the success of One Direction.
Harry Styles auditioned for The X Factor back in 2010 as a solo artist and, while he impressed all the judges, he almost did not make it through to bootcamp. Judge Louis Walsh said that he felt Harry was too young and not ready for the tough journey ahead, so gave him a no but, fortunately for young Styles, Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger had the sense to say yes and put him through.

Bootcamp did not go as well as Harry Styles would have hoped though and his dreams of becoming a huge solo artist came to an end. However, someone had the sense to go ahead and put Harry together with the other four boys to form the boyband One Direction, who would go on to impress Simon Cowell at judges houses, before then going on to the live shows of The X Factor. From there, One Direction have gone on to take over the world of music.
