Nicole Kidman is earning massive amounts of critical acclaim for her starring role in the play "Photograph 51" but part of the credit has to go to her mother. In an interview with Marie Claire while attending an Omega watch event in Milan for whom she is an ambassador the gorgeous Australian admitted that she might never have agreed to be part of the play if not for the encouragement or more accurately 'push out the door' provided by her mother.
Prior to returning to the stage for the play about a scientist, something that reminded her of her recently deceased father, she had not been on stage for seventeen years since her last appearance in London when she left fans in awe with her exceptional performance in the "Blue Room".
When she spoke to her Mom about "Photograph 51" she was very comfortable with the prospect of staying at home in Nashville but her mother after hearing her reservations about it being hard work 'encouraged her in the way only a mother can' to do the play (Marie Claire.co.uk - September 19).
She admitted that her playing this role helped push her out of her acting complacency and forced her to use a set of skills and muscles she had not used for a long time and this has allowed fans according to various critics to witness one of the best actresses in the entertainment industry playing a strong, complicated woman.
Moreover, her superb stage performance has fans intrigued and excited about her upcoming television and movie performances of which she has several in pre and post production and has reaffirmed to some entertainment observers her status as an actor of exceptional dramatic range and talent following the criticisms associated with the movie "Queen of Monaco".
Nicole Kidman, an award-winning actress who still has to admit that sometimes, Mom knows best.
