While there are some people who have suggested that the comic book movie scene is close to coming to an end, the next few years definitely prove otherwise. Comic book movie fans have been calling for Spider-Man to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and they got their wish, when Sony allowed Marvel to use the character, who will first pop up in Captain America: Civil War.
There was a lot of talk about which actor would play Peter Parker aka Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before it was confirmed that the British actor Tom Holland had been cast in the role. Tom has finished shooting his scenes for Captain America: Civil War and he has sported a rather nasty war wound on his face, which came after an accident on the set of the movie.
Holland revealed, "No, no violence. It was my own mistake. I basically fell over and bashed my face in front of about two hundred crew members, so not my most heroic moment! It was luckily just before my last shot; they were like, ‘Roll cameras!’, I was getting into position, everything went wrong, and they still did the take anyway. It looks great and they’ll probably just CGI out all the blood, and yeah, I was very lucky."
We cannot wait to see Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, which is set to hit the big screen on April 29, 2016 in the UK and May 6, 2016 in the US. Following that, Tom will then appear in the new Spider-Man standalone film, which will open on July 28, 2017. We cannot wait!
