While actress Melissa Benoist has been working hard in the acting industry for quite a few years now, appearing in a whole host of different television shows and movies, it is fair to say that she is now best known for playing the role of Kara Danvers aka Supergirl in the hit The CW series Supergirl, which is part of the very impressive DCTV universe.

However, while Melissa Benoist continues in her role of Supergirl, she still has much more to offer than just that, with a number of other roles in some movie projects lined up for the coming years. The next time we will see Melissa appearing on the big screen, is in the upcoming new movie Sun Dogs, which sounds like a very amusing movie idea indeed.
Sun Dogs has been officially described as, "Following his third failed attempt to join the military, courage-obsessed misfit, Ned Chipley, takes a Marine Officer's advice to 'protect the home front' a little too seriously. Determined to find his purpose in life, Ned Chipley zeroes in on a casino manager, who may or may not be an Al Qaeda mastermind. Chipley enlists the help of a young runaway named Tally Petersen; together they form the most unlikely anti-terrorism unit of post-9/11 America in SUN DOGS, a tale of love, friendship and homeland security."

As well as starring Melissa Benoist, we are also going to see other stars such as Allison Janney, Ed O'Neill, Michael Angarano, Eric Christian Olsen, and Xzibit. Meanwhile Jennifer Morrison has a role in Sun Dogs, as well as directing the movie, which has been written by Anthony Tambakis, with the movie awaiting an official release date.
