With the Marvel Cinematic Universe already so huge and full of popular comic book characters, it is hard to see how they are going to continue to fit all these new, up and coming characters into the team up movies. However, there are plenty of new Marvel characters coming to the big screen over the next few years and we cannot wait to see how they will impact the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The next Marvel movie to hit the big screen is Ant-Man, which is just a few days away from release, while we will also get a Doctor Strange movie hitting the big screen in 2016. While there is not a great deal known about the Doctor Strange movie, Marvel president Kevin Feige has given us a little hint as to how the Ant-Man movie will link into the Doctor Strange film.
Feige was speaking at a recent Ant-Man press junket, when he explained, "We send Ant-Man on a very weird, mind-bending journey at the end of Ant-Man. It was something we hadn’t seen in a shrinking movie before, but it also represents the tip of the mind-bending weirdness we’re going to do in Strange, which I think will surprise people."
Doctor Strange will be directed by Scott Derrickson and is set to begin shooting in November this year. British actor Benedict Cumberbatch will play Stephen Strange in the movie, with Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and Tilda Swinton in talks to play The Ancient One. Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit the big screen on October 28, 2016 in the UK and November 4, 2016 in the US.
