Maribel Guardia is an actress, model, and singer from Costa Rica. In 1978, she won Miss Costa Rica and was a contestant in the Miss Universe pageant placing in the top 15. Maribel has made several telenovelas and released a series of albums, including those for young children.
The morning show, Good Morning, returned to television recently, after three weeks of being off air. Maribel has joined the show as a honored guest for the relaunch. Recently, the production staff surprised her with three of her high school friends that she hadn't seen in many years. It was a heart-felt reunion.
Maribel was married to Joan Sebastian, a Mexican singer and songwriter. In a recent interview, she talked about his long battle with cancer that he ultimately succumbed to in July 2015. She talked about the father of her son wanting to live and not die, as well as amazing zest for life.
With over 700,000 followers, the actress and model's Twitter page stays active, as well as her Facebook Fan Page with almost 8 million fans. Recently, Maribel was on vacation with her son Julian and someone stole her wallet in Starbucks. It was later recovered, however, all her money was gone. Fortunately, they did leave her passport which she was grateful for. On Facebook, she posted "material things will come and go..." but she thanked God for her health and that she and Julian were not hurt. She never imagined that something like this would happen, particularly on her days off.
