When it comes to television talent shows, there have not been many that have been as popular and successful as the hit series American Idol, which has given us some very talented stars over the years. As well as bringing through a lot of talented unknown stars, American Idol has also seen a number of established stars appearing as judges on the show.
One music superstar who appeared as a judge on American Idol was Mariah Carey, who was one of the judges for the 12th season of the show. Mariah has now opened up about her time on the show, claiming that she hated every minute of it, even going as far as to call it boring and fake.
Carey was asked whether she would ever reunite with her former fellow judges, when she replied, "Hell, no. Absolutely not, that was the worst experience of my life. I'm not going to get into what it was, let's just say, I don't think they had any intentions of us having a good experience through that show. Putting two females against each other wasn't cool."
She added, "It's so boring and so fake. I'm sorry I just think it's... when i say it's fake... I mean like you have to make up things to say about people. Half the time the performances are good, you just be like 'it was good' and you feel like ending it there: 'You were really good'."
While American Idol has been hugely successful over the years, it will finally come to an end, after officially being cancelled after its 14th season.
