Well it looks like Warner Bros. and DC really do have high hopes for their upcoming movie Suicide Squad, despite the fact that their most recent film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is widely regarded as a huge let down. Fortunately though, Zack Snyder is not the man bringing us Suicide Squad, so there are plenty of happy and excited people around the world.
With Suicide Squad yet to hit the big screen, Warner Bros. and DC are already moving ahead with plans for their characters in the film, especially the fans favourite Harley Quinn. Australian actress Margot Robbie will make her debut as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, and it has now be reported that she will then move on to lead her own spinoff film.
According to the reports, Margot Robbie has become very interested in the comic book world, following her research on Harley Quinn, and wants Warner Bros. and DC to next focus on the female heroes and villains of that world. This will see her character sharing the big screen with a number of the fans favourite female characters from the DC comic books.
While nothing has yet been officially confirmed, there have been some rumours that we will get to see Batgirl appearing in this new project, as well as Birds of Prey having some involvement in the film. For now though, we first look forward to seeing what the Suicide Squad movie has to offer, before we get to excited about any future projects.
Suicide Squad is set to hit the big screen on August 5 in both the US and the UK.
