Actress Lily Collins has done a fantastic job of coming out of the shadow of her legendary father Phil Collins and making a name for herself in her own right on the acting scene, becoming a much sought after star in Hollywood. Lily has appeared in a lot of impressive movies over the years, but her latest film is one that really did strike a little bit close to home for her.
Lily Collins will star in the upcoming new movie To the Bone, which saw the actress having to lose a certain amount of weight for the role, something which she has admitted that she was nervous about. Lily has admitted in the past that she struggled from an eating disorder when she was younger but, with the support of everyone involved in the film, she managed to put it all behind her.
Collins was a guest on the ITV daytime chat show Lorraine, when she revealed to the host, "I was nervous right away with the subject matter, but I knew it was for a greater purpose. I'm older now and I have a different perspective on it."
She added, "I was excited to be able to tell this story and open up the conversation for men and women around the world. I was kept under close supervision by the producers, the directors, the writer, my mother and also a nutritionist. We worked very closely together, very healthfully."
To the Bone appeared at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and is set for limited release in the US on July 14.
