Starting in 2012 actress Kristen Kruek began working on the television show Beauty and the Beast. The show has been on air for about three seasons but will be canceled during the fourth. Kruek is the main star of the show and she plays the role of Catherine Chandler Keller. Once the show ends she will be moving on to other roles on different programs.
Most television stars realize that their shows probably will not last for more than five years on air. Some programs do get past this point but many are cancelled by their first or second season. When most of these shows go off air many of the performers on these shows typically do not get work on other projects. However, if a particular show has performed really well, the cast members can usually find more success with landing acting jobs.
Another reason why stars from canceled shows do not land acting jobs has to do with their former roles. Many stars are often locked into certain roles and they are usually identified with those characters long after a show has ended. Kristen Kruek has become a recognized personality but not to the point where everyone will always identify her as the leading figure on Beauty and the Beast.
Kruek does not limit herself to television roles she also performs in films. While she has not performed in any films since 2012, the Canadian actress still has this option open for her. Kruek is also a popular in Canada which is her native homeland. Many of her fans are Canadian as well. In all probability she will land other roles in upcoming projects. While the series Beauty and the Beast will end, Kruek's career will continue to move forward.
