We have seen so many huge superstars coming from the hit television series American Idol but it is fair to say that the original American Idol will always be the first winner Kelly Clarkson, who has enjoyed a hugely successful career since winning the show almost 15 years ago. Kelly has definitely had her ups and downs along the way, both with her music and in her personal life but she is still going strong and working hard.
It is hard to believe that Kelly Clarkson has only just been released from her recording contract with American Idol, with the stunning star now preparing to release her first studio album since that contract came to an end. Kelly has now been talking about her new album, admitting that she felt a sense of freedom when writing and recording her new songs.
Clarkson recently did a Facebook Live chat, when she revealed, "The inspiration behind my new album is, well, I'm free! It's my first album to make outside my contract from 'Idol', so, you know, I got to actually pick who I'm working with. I didn't know it could be like this. I literally just cried a lot before, so it's really fun, and it's cool, 15 years later, to get to experience this."
She then went on to add, "We're still working on it, but we have a good batch of songs already and I can't wait to sing them live. They're amazing. After having a career for so long, it's so weird that nobody knows [my sound] yet, so it's going to be so good. It's definitely a different chapter."
Kelly Clarkson's new album is titled Meaning of Life and is set for its big release on October 27.
