There are certain roles in acting that can take your career and catapult it to a whole other level, taking you from being a relative unknown to a household name around the world. For British beauty Kaya Scodelario, that role was as Effy in the hit television series Skins and, while it has been many years since the show came to an end, Kaya has admitted that she still loves to catch up with her former Skins co-stars.

Scodelario revealed, "Obviously, it’s weird because Nick [Nicholas Hoult] will turn up and he has just been in X-Men and Daniel [Kaluuya] is in Get Out now – what the hell? But we kind of get that out of the way in the first 10 minutes and then we go straight back to just joking around and being us."
As well as talking about what it is like to catch up with her former Skins co-stars, Kaya Scodelario also went on to talk about what it was like to play Effy back in those days. Kaya says that she absolutely loved to play such a character, as she is so different to what her own life was like.

Scodelario added, "It was always fun to play Effy because she was so different from me. I was incredibly shy and insecure as a child; I was bullied, I was dyslexic, I had an immigrant single parent; I was the opposite of that kind of ideal, cool girl thing."
Meanwhile, fans of Kaya Scodelario can see the actress appearing in arguably her biggest movie project to date, as she takes on the role of Carina Smyth in the new movie Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which is set to hit the big screen on May 25 in the UK and on May 26 in the US.
