It looks like we need to start getting familiar with seeing the sight of Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves together, as the two stars are preparing to work with one another on a number of occasions over the course of the coming year or so. Kacey Musgraves and Katy Perry will perform together on CMT's Crossroads on June 13, before then heading off on tour together this Summer.
Some people feel that it is a rather unusual collaboration, with Katy Perry being a pop star, while Kacey Musgraves is a country artist but the two stars insist that it is a blend that works perfectly. Katy has spoken out about Kacey to give the country star some words of praise, admitting that she loves to champion new stars.
Perry told The Hollywood Reporter, "I just thought we would make a good duo. We hung out and liked each other. I love championing new artists as much as possible. I have a nice, big platform, and I get to use it to help out some people sometimes."
The praise was not finished there though, as Katy Perry went on to talk up Kacey Musgraves, insisting that she knew that the country singer was always going to become a big star. Katy says that her championing Kacey is similar to how Madonna praised her back when she was staring out.
Perry added, "Well, I mean, she's doing good on her own. She don't need me! But the one thing that sticks out a little bit is that when my EP Ur So Gay came out, Madonna talked about it on a radio interview and it blew up, so that was very helpful in that way. But Kacey was always going to be a star. Everybody felt that."
We cannot wait to see Katy Perry and Kacey Musgraves on stage together.
