Since it first came out that Hollywood supremo Harvey Weinstein was being accused of sexual misconduct, there have been many women all over the world feeling that they now have the courage to come out and talk about their own experiences with sexual misconduct, including a number of big name celebrities.
American supermodel Kate Upton previously claimed that she was the victim of sexual misconduct at the hands of Guess founder Paul Marciano, something which he has since denied. Kate has now spoken about how proud she is of women and that she feels that now is a great time for women in the world.
Upton was chatting to Entertainment Tonight, when she said, "I appreciate the support so much. It's such an exciting time for women because now we have a platform to not allow the norm to be the norm anymore.I'm just really excited about this movement and am happy to create a platform for other women to speak their stories as well."
She then went on to add, "I think it's women continuing to speak out and not accept what was the norm [that will create change]... And to expect being treated in a professional way in a professional setting."
It is definitely going to be interesting to see what sort of impact this movement is going to have, not only on the entertainment scene but also all over the world. Kate Upton could well be right and it could be a great time to be a woman in the world today and for the future.
