When it was first announced that there were plans being made to bring us a new Jumanji movie, there were millions of fans of the original Jumanji movie, all over the world, who were not convinced that making a new version was a good idea. A lot of people felt it should be left well alone, as they did not want it to ruin a movie that was originally made so great by the late Robin Williams.
When it came to the promotional material for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, there was again a negative reaction, with many people criticising the short shorts that actress Karen Gillan was wearing in the new film. However, when Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was finally released, the film was actually a surprising success and has become one of the best films of 2017, not only at the box office but also with the fans and critics.
It is no surprise then, that there are now plans to bring us a Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel, which is going to see the return of the same stars, presumably playing the same role. What will be interesting to see, is whether or not we will once again see Karen Gillan in those short shorts or whether they will actually decide to give in and have her wearing something else.
Whatever happens, there is no doubt that Karen Gillan is going to really enjoy shooting the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sequel, just as she did the last time around, and we cannot wait to see if they can make the sequel as much of a success. There is no news of a release date for the movie yet but we will keep you posted.
