Hollywood actor Josh Duhamel is set to appear on the big screen in a few days time in the movie Safe Haven. Josh has now been talking about the movie and, in particular, the involvement of Mimi Kirkland and Noah Lomax, who play his children in the movie. Josh says that he loves to have kids on set because they make everything a lot more fun.
Duhamel was being interviewed by Collider, when he explained, “For me, a movie without kids on the set is like Christmas without kids. They just make it a little bit more fun. There’s no pretension there. They’re there to have fun. These two particularly were very sweet kids by nature. They didn’t have a lot of experience in the business. I had met with them before and spent some time on the beach with Mimi (Kirkland). Noah (Lomax) was in Atlanta so we didn’t get to hang out so much.”
He added, “For me, the relationship with them was as important as the relationship with Julianne in the movie because so much of this is about finding [themselves again]. They’ve both been through so much. My character has already had what he thought was his first love and lost that, and now anything that comes after that depends on how the kids react to that. Any decision that my character makes going forward has to be okay with them, too. That relationship was very specific. Luckily, they were fun kids to work with.”
As well as starring Josh Duhamel, Safe Haven also stars Julianne Hough, David Lyons and Cobie Smulders. Safe Haven is directed by Lasse Hallstrom, based on the screen that has been developed by Leslie Bohem and Dana Stevens, and is set to be released on February 14 in the US, before then being released on March 1 in the UK.
