When it comes to the comic book movie universe, there is no denying that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is really leading the way and that the DC Extended Universe is struggling to impress in the same way. However, when it comes to the battle of the underwater superheroes, it seems that Warner Bros. and DC have got the leg up with having Aquaman in the Justice League movie, and even more so with the solo Aquaman film.
With that said though, there has been rumours that Disney and Marvel are simply waiting to see just how well received the Aquaman movie is, before they then decide to make their move with their own underwater superhero Namor. Following the positive response to Jason Momoa as Aquaman in the Justice League movie, it is expected that Aquaman will do well at the box office, which will no doubt lead to Namor joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With that in mind, we have been taking a look at some of the directors who would probably be best suited to coming on board to direct a Namor movie, should the character get his own solo project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When it comes to knowledge of underwater filming, we are pretty sure it is fair to say that there are none better than James Cameron, who could also give us a great Namor story.
James Cameron has been working hard on his Avatar sequels for some time now and it is unlikely that he would then want to jump on a comic book movie project. However, a Namor movie could still be some years away, so James might just be able to be persuaded if the timing was right.
