Hailee Steinfeld will be playing the starring role in the movie adaptation of "Carrie Pilby" and there are some fans and entertainment observers who anticipate that she is going to surprise many viewers with her performance. The movie is about a 19 year old genius who after graduating from Harvard University goes to live in New York and finds that she has no idea how to fit in or socialize outside of the university environment.
The role is ideal acting vehicle for this talented actress as she will have the opportunity to show her extensive dramatic range and ability to find the different personalities and dimensions of this character. She also might be able to relate to this character in the sense that she is a star actress whose acting talents and attractive looks have brought her much attention in Hollywood but when she is not in Hollywood and just wants to be 'normal' it is very likely that such an option can be difficult to achieve.
Shortly after the announcement was made she made an appearance at Kari Feinstein's pre-Golden Globes Style lounge at the Andaz Hotel in Hollywood, California and looked the part of the attractive college student while wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, leather jacket and a cute toque.
The director of the indie film, Susan Johnson, looks at Hailee Steinfeld as a female Holden Caufield in that she is "brilliant, fragile, funny, conscious, inquisitive and brave enough to say things that we (most people) wouldn't dare" (2 Paragraphs - January 9, 2015).
Hailee Steinfeld is known as a talented actress who has impressed many with her performances in "True Grit" and "Ender's Game" but this role provides her the opportunity to show her dramatic range as a young adult and could result in her shocking some fans with her performance because as the director Susan Johnson stated, she is willing to take the character places that very few people, actors or non-actors will go.
