With DC and Warner Bros. playing catch up to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are getting a whole host of new and exciting comic book movies coming our way, with the next movie from the DCEU being Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We will see a huge amount of DC characters in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has comic book fans around the world very excited.
One DC character that many fans were eager to see on the big screen, is that of Wonder Woman, who is being played by Gal Gadot in the DCEU. We have already seen what Gal Gadot will look like as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has split a lot of the fans. Now though, costume designer Michael Wilkinson has explained the influences behind the Wonder Woman costume.
He explained, "As for the Wonder Woman suit, well she has never been seen in a film before, so there was nothing to compare it to! There is of course the costume from the TV show. Zack wanted our character to be a fierce and intimidating warrior — gritty, battle-scarred and immortal…. Zack had a great idea to have some kryptonian script subliminally included in the details of the suit, so we made that happen. There is ancient Greek script on Wonder Woman’s weapons too."
We cannot wait to see if the DCEU can compete with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we have high hopes for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is set to hit the big screen on March 25, 2016 in both the US and the UK.
