When it comes to Disney deciding to take some of their classic animated movies and turning them into live-action big screen adaptations, it is fair to say that they have been getting it right every time, with pretty much all of the ones they have given us so far proving very successful, both with the fans and the critics as well as bringing in a huge amount of money at the box office.

It is no surprise then, that Disney still have a huge amount of upcoming live-action movies they are bringing us, with some getting the fans very excited indeed, while there are others which seem to have left the fans with a lot of questions. When it was first announced that we were getting a live-action Aladdin movie, most of us were very excited but it seems that the casting choices have put a bit of a dampener on things for some of the fans.

One of the biggest issues for a lot of fans, along with the fact that Guy Ritchie is directing the Aladdin movie, is that there seems to be a new whitewashing argument, with Billy Magnussen playing the role of Prince Anders.

One annoyed fan moaned, "As if it isn't bad enough having Guy Ritchie directing and Will Smith as the Genie, Disney have also decided to give us a white Prince, not that I am surprised, just very disappointed." Meanwhile, another added, "You woulda thought Disney woulda learnt from past whitewashing scandals. Seems not. (sic)".

The Aladdin movie is aiming for a May 29, 2019 release date.
