There was once a time when every thought that young and talented actress Dakota Fanning was going to go on to become a Hollywood great but, while the impressive star has gone on to land plenty of exciting roles and has shown her ability time and again, she has not quite reached those huge heights we were all expecting. Now, it seems that her younger sister Elle Fanning has taken over and is now considered the bigger star of the two sisters.
Elle Fanning appeared in the 2010 movie Somewhere, which was directed by Sofia Coppola, and the actress is now set to appear in the new movie The Beguiled, which is once again directed by Sofia Coppola. Now, Elle has been talking about getting to appear in such an exciting project, admitting that she is delighted to work with Sofia again and probably would have agreed to any project she had to offer.
Fanning told Collider, "Sofia emailed me. She said that Kirsten Dunst was going to play Edwina. She had Nicole Kidman for Miss Martha. She said, 'I want to make you Alicia, one of the students.' She said she was excited to make me the bad girl, she was really excited about this character that I was going to get to play. And basically, yes. Anything with Sofia ... I mean, since 'Somewhere' we became so close and we've been trying to find something else to do together. I think I would have probably said yes to anything."
As well as starring Elle Fanning, Kirsten Dunst, and Nicole Kidman, the cast for The Beguiled also features Colin Farrell, Angourie Rice, and Oona Laurence, with the movie already out in the US and set to hit the big screen in the UK on July 14.
