Over the course of the next few years, we are going to get so many different comic book movies, that there is not going to be much time to talk about anything else. What time we do have left will mostly be spent talking about remakes, reboots, prequels and sequels, since there are also so many of these coming to the big screen over the coming years.
While the movie Edge of Tomorrow was not the biggest success at the box office, it was far from a flop, managing to gross a very respectable $364m, from a budget of $178m. Following the release of the movie last year, the fans and critics have been very positive about the film, which has led to some people to call for an Edge of Tomorrow sequel.
At this moment in time, there is no official plan to make an Edge of Tomorrow sequel, although writer Christopher McQuarrie has admitted that he does already have some ideas about a possible sequel. Chris did say though, that the only way he would get on board with an Edge of Tomorrow sequel, is if director Doug Liman, as well as stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt, all agreed to return for the project.
As well as all of that, Warner Bros. would also need to give the Edge of Tomorrow sequel the green light, although we can't see why they wouldn't, considering how big a following the first movie developed. It will be difficult to get everyone together at the same time, with all of the busy schedules, so an Edge of Tomorrow sequel is probably unlikely, but we can hope and dream can't we?
