The Star Wars movie universe is one of the biggest and most successful to ever grace Hollywood and it is just going to continue getting bigger and better with every year and every new movie which is released in that universe. Next up we are getting the next instalment of the new Star Wars trilogy, with Star Wars: Episode VIII getting ever close to its big release date.
The new Star Wars movie will pick up where the last one left off, with Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) meeting for the first time. There has been plenty of talk and rumours about the possible relationship between these two characters and it has now been confirmed that it is going to be a very important part of the movie.
Director Rian Johnson was chatting to the guys over at USA Today, when he told them, "I don’t want to skip ahead two years. I want to see the very next moment of what happens," before then going on to add that their relationship would be, "a large part of the movie."
As well as all of that, the director also said, "but part of what’s she’s dealing with is the realization that she has this power and this gift. She’s taking her first step to coming to terms with this thing inside her that she never knew was there and is just starting to reveal its potential."
Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to hit the big screen on December 15 in both the US and the UK. We cannot wait!
