There has been a lot of fuss made about the casting choices for the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Ever since it was announced that Charlie Hunnam will play Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey film and Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, people around the world have given their opinions on the decision.
It seems that a lot of the fans are disappointed by the casting choices, as they wanted to see some more high-profile stars in the leading roles, although the decision might not be as bad as people think. While Charlie and Dakota are not yet global superstars, they are more than capable actors.
It has even been mentioned that Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam could be set to become the new Kim Basinger and Mickey Rourke. Kim and Mickey starred together in the movie 9 1/2 Weeks and, while the film only managed to gross $7m, it went on to become a cult classic and launched Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger into global superstardom.
There is no doubt that Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson will become global superstars off the back of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie and, despite the fact that some fans have criticised the casting, Fifty Shades of Grey will definitely go on to become a huge financial success.
Fifty Shades of Grey opens on August 1, 2014.
