There have been so many different rumours doing the rounds recently, especially when it comes to the new X-Men movies and all of the new characters we are going to see appearing on the big screen in the near future. One of the biggest talking points has been about Gambit coming to the big screen, with rumours about when we will first see him and who will play the character.
It was pretty much expected that Channing Tatum would take on the role of Gambit in the new movies, with the actor even practising his card tricks and working on his accent for the role. However, it was recently suggested that there has been a bit of a stumbling block with the contract negotiations and that Channing was now considering quitting as the character all together.
Fortunately though, it seems that it has all been worked out and it has now been finally, officially confirmed that Channing Tatum is going to play the role of Gambit in the X-Men movies. With Hugh Jackman preparing to make his final appearance as Wolverine, it has been suggested that we will see Channing Tatum and Gambit taking over as the main star in the X-Men movies.
While some have claimed that we could see Gambit appearing in a cameo role in X-Men: Apocalypse, it has actually been stated that we will not see Channing Tatum appearing as Gambit on the big screen until the solo movie is released. The Gambit movie is set to go into production in October, with a release date scheduled for October 7, 2016.
