While there are still some people who criticise reality music competitions such as American Idol and The X Factor, you cannot deny that there have been some very talented stars who have come through and gone on to enjoy a long and successful career in the music industry. One such star is the hugely talented music star Carrie Underwood, who rose to stardom after winning the fourth season of American Idol back in 2005 and has been working hard in the business ever since.

Being such a successful music superstar on such a global scale means that Carrie Underwood has had to make certain sacrifices in her life, including how she juggles her time between her career and her family life. Carrie has now admitted that she has decided to take a bit of a break from the music industry, as she wants to focus more on her family and wants to spend more time with her husband Mike Fisher and their young son Isaiah.
Underwood explained, "We just wrapped up the Storyteller Tour and I feel like my life right now, creatively, is kind of a blank space. I'm really excited about that, because you don't know where you're going to go. I'm nervous because I want whatever I do next to be amazing, so I'm kind of taking a little break right now and being a mom and being a wife and going to see some hockey games to see my husband play. I'm kind of waiting for lightning to strike and go, 'Okay, it's time to get creative and work on new music!'"

She added, "I'm not going to lie, it's difficult when professionalism and your mommyhood collide - which is on a daily basis - but it's wonderful. It's like bring your baby to work every day. He's just there, and it's great he's on the bus and helping me get ready. It might make things take a little longer, but he's just my little sunshine. He makes me happy all day. [But] I've blocked off some time to be able to take him trick-or-treating a little bit and got him a costume and everything."
We love that Carrie Underwood is putting herself and her family first but, since we are such big fans, we hope that she does not stay away for too long.
