Just when you start to get a feeling that the DC Extended Universe is finally starting to get its act together and that it is now moving in the right direction and could well have what it takes to compete with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, something new pops up that makes us question just what is going to go wrong next and what is going to mess with the positive work they have been doing.
The first reviews for the Justice League movie are now in and it has been mostly positive so far, which gives us high hopes for the future projects in the DC Extended Universe. However, there has been that constant rumour that Ben Affleck is going to quit his role as Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the DCEU, with a new actor being brought in to replace him for the planned The Batman movie.
Now, Justice League producer Charles Roven has been talking about what the future holds for Ben Affleck and The Batman movie, telling fans, "From everything I know, he’s going to play that Batman. They’re retooling the script, so I can’t really say anything for certain."
While these new comments do give us some hope that we will still get to see Ben Affleck starring in The Batman, they were far from definite and there is still a long way to go before production on that movie will begin, which means that there is still plenty of time for it all to change. We hope that Ben does stick around for a few more DC movies but we just have a feeling that he could be done with it.
