While the DC Extended Universe has not been overly impressive, the Wonder Woman solo film did manage to show that there is still hope for this comic book universe, making us even more excited for the future standalone movies that are coming our way over the years. One movie that we are very interested in seeing in the DCEU, is the upcoming Aquaman movie, which boasts a very interesting and exciting cast.
Hollywood beauty Amber Heard takes on the role of Mera in the Aquaman movie, a role which we will first see her taking on in the Justice League film. As expected, Amber had to hit the gym in order to get in shape for her role as Mera in Aquaman, and it has now been revealed just how hard Amber had to push herself to get in shape for the role.
Her personal trainer, Gunnar Peterson, explained to People magazine, "She wanted to deliver for the character. [She trained] for a non-stop, no breaks hour with me, and then she went to her fight training, which was rigorous! Everything was athletically based."
He added, "We trained movements, not muscles. Squat presses, sled work, and lots of work in a rotational plane against resistance. She is a true athlete. She was so consistent. Without her being so committed, the results would not have happened. She could not have been better! If I could bottle her drive and conviction I'd sell that as a pre-workout drink!"
Aquaman is set to hit the big screen on December 21, 2018 in both the US and the UK, while we will first get to see Amber Heard as Mera in the Justice League movie, which opens on November 17 in both the US and the UK.
