British music star Adele is one of the biggest and best stars on the face of the Earth and it is always disappointing for the fans when she confesses that she will be taking a break from her music career in order to focus on her family. Adele loves spending as much time as she possibly can with her family but she has had her struggles along the way.
As is the case with millions of women around the world, Adele did actually suffer from postnatal depression back in 2012, after she gave birth to her first child Angelo. While she has admitted that she found it difficult to talk about with some of her childless friends, Adele did admit that there were actually friends with children who knew exactly what she was going through.
Adele was doing an interview with Vanity Fair, when she explained, "My friends who didn't have kids would get annoyed with me. Whereas I knew I could just sit there and chat absolute mush with my friends who had children, and we wouldn't judge each other. One day I said to a friend, 'I f**kin' hate this', and she just burst into tears and said, 'I f**kin' hate this, too'. And it was done. It lifted. You don't want to be with your child; you're worried you might hurt your child. But I was obsessed with my child."
She added, "I felt very inadequate. I felt like I'd made the worst decision of my life... It can come in many different forms. It makes you a better mom if you give yourself a better time. I'm enjoying touring, but at times I feel guilty because I'm doing this massive tour. Even though my son is with me all the time, on certain nights I can't put him to bed. I never feel guilty when I'm not working. You're constantly trying to make up for stuff when you're a mom... I don't care if I don't ever get to do anything for myself again."
It is great to see Adele back to her best and loving life and we hope to get plenty more new music from her for many more years to come.
